And sometimes little Italy is better than no vacation at all :-D
I may not always categorize myself into a group based on features or assets, but seriously, being a part of a natural hair community has got me thinking. Are we left out?

While I was at work a doctor approached me (who also has natural hair), and she asked if there is a place in my state where I purchase my hair products…. and then I began to think. there are not many shops out there who just specialize in hair products for natural hair. Now doing so may have its limitations, and its stigma on catering to just one group, making the natural hair community ostracize others.
But C’MON SON! It would be nice to have a store that we could go to just to have our hair questions answered or even to find out which products best help with out hair, as expressed by the Doctor. Yes this may be a controversial topic and I could very well answer for both sides but I just had to let it be known. So if there are any beautiful hair product creators out there that can help with this issue, please step out of your box and open up a store. There is nothing to lose… =) I would but I am not the greatest at conjuring hair concoctions.

What if i told u i cheated...
all those lies and deceptions i conjured up about you secretly poured into my bowl.
What if i told u i cheated....
That his hands weren't really Urs, and his obsession with me, didn't quite fit your desires?
What if i told you i cheated...
So your friends are no longer yours but his instead because my very being no longer belongs to
What if i told u i cheated...
Your resume didn't match my other half...because even though Ur my binding link, his credentials override Urs in both the pockets and the bedroom
What if i Told u i cheated....
What God once made holy has been emaciated and "i do" sounds Like "i dont"
Your stern demeanor says it all was it because i cheated?
Now u assume i cheated...
It makes u think if its really my yearly gross that's paying for this roof over Ur Head
and the car payments i make for u every month…is it me  or my man mistress supplying me with the funds...
So lets say i cheated... would i admit or be just like u?
You cheated...

Okay so…sit down, pull up a chair, pop a squat, or relax on that sofa
because ladies we are about to have us a nice conversation. Tell me
something, how do you feel? When you wake up in the morning after
giving thanks to God, how do you feel about yourself? Are you
comfortable with who you are or do you confront the things that you
are not comfortable with?

Well, first let me say that you have to start your day off embracing
who you are.  Embrace everything about you.  Embrace you flaws,
imperfections, perfections, attitude, body, soul, and mind.  Now,
embracing doesn’t necessarily mean that you have to accept them;
however you do need to be comfortable with them. Be comfortable enough
to know that you can still be you and be beautiful.

There‘s always going to be a time where you will sit back, reflect on
things and feel like you are lost.  But honey chil’e let me teellll
you.  You have to figure out who you want to be as a person and as a
woman.  Baby you need to realize that you (clearing my throat…yes you
honey) are “fearfully and wonderfully made” Psalms 139:14. See God
knew what he was doing when he made you and you are beautiful and
perfectly made in his eyes. Now it’s time for you to embrace that.

In Phil 4:10, Paul talks about being content.  Comfort and content go
hand in hand.  Paul says “I have learned in whatever state I am, to be
content.” Be satisfied with yourself and be content because everything
about you, God created and He knows you better than anybody. Don’t
worry about how other people will perceive you. You don’t have to live
your life for other people.  You live your life for yourself and for
pleasing God because he is the only person that you really need to
answer to.  People come and go honey…trust…there will be plenty of
people who will walk in and out of your life because they will not be
open to the type of person that you are.

Now, I can tell you that the one way that you can be comfortable with
yourself is to get acquainted with God first. Why? Because you then
learn to put all your hope, faith, desires, heartache, concerns, and
inconsistencies in God’s hands. God is never going to put more on you
than you can bare and let’s be honest….struggle is a part of our
lives.  Even Jesus himself had to struggle.

Hopefully you all have had the chance to fulfill Lesson 1 and found the “homework” to be effective.

So now that you are geared up for purpose in your hair journey the next step is organization.

Organization is key in any process in life. It helps you to become more aware of your surroundings and on point. Whether you are organizing your finances or your shoes, it is a key factor in progressing to success.

You now need to be able to designate certain places for all of your hair care needs, You need to be able to store your hair care products and accessories. We can not forget our hair tools either.

Through my hair journey I have not purchased storage spaces for my products because I have used house hold items, but if you feel the need to buy a separate storage space for the items you are envisioning to purchase or already have in your possession then by all means go get it. Every purchase made needs a resting a place. You don’t want to be a product junky like myself (well an ex-product junky) and be stuck with wads of products you have to stuff under your bed. Trust me, at least 90 percent of newly naturals fall into product junkyism in their first few months because of their “trial stages” with products.

What I use?

For my hair accessories I have used a old card board box that was decorated with Tinkerbelle

For my hair tools I use an old Clorox bin

For products I use a huge and I mean huge tote bag and a crate

What will you use?

Homework:

Start thinking of ways you will store your hair supplies. Once you have done that, organize the items you have already to start your organization habits in your journey.

*Remember: You don’t have to buy storage equipment, just know how and where you will store and organize to be effective in your journey.
